State and local elections
Thursday May 29 is the first
day to sign party designating
petitions to qualify candidates
for the September 9 Primary
ballot.
If no competing petitions are
filed - designated candidates
for public offices appear on
the November 4 General
Election ballot.
In the case of petitions for
party committee seats
designated candidates are
deemed to be elected, if no
competing petitions are filed.
Within 20 days after the
September 9 Primary
duly elected Members of
County, City and Town
committees meet to elect
respective officers for each
committee for a two year
term.
